The U.S. M1 “steel pot” helmet was the standard combat helmet from 1941 to 1985, serving through WWII, Korea, and Vietnam Wars. Consists of a non-magnetic steel outer shell and a separate, removable suspension inner liner. Was even used for cooking, digging, and washing!
