Note: This picture is a depiction of the variation of the packboard. Slight differences throughout the years but overall same concept. These DO NOT have lashing ropes.
The soldiers of WW2 could carry heavy, irregular loads (gas cans, mortars, tripods, ammo cans, heavy and light machine guns) on a packboard better than in any other way. This system left their hands free for combat even during major troop movements. Post war dated in the 40’s and 50’s. New old stock with some shelfwear-scuffs, stains on canvas, tape.
